The time needed to obtain a permit can vary greatly. It can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks for some forms, and all wait times depend on how long officials take to approve permits. Certain factors may increase the permitting process, such as the need for you to submit a stormwater management plan drawn up by an Engineer or the need to request your HOA for an approval letter (if you live in a deed-restricted community).

The time it takes to build your pool depends on a number of factors. The complexity of your design, time of year, and other variables will all determine how long it takes to build your pool. As with any other outdoor activity, pool construction is susceptible to the weather, and rainy days may effect the schedule. As professional contractors, we are accustomed to working in these conditions, and have measures in place to help mitigate costs and delays. That being said, the average pool build typically takes about 6-8 weeks from the completion of excavation. A pool/spa combo takes about 8-12 weeks. Helmer Pools always strives to complete our pools in the fastest timeframe possible, which differentiates us from our competitors. Your pool is our priority!

There are various phases to swimming pool construction, but only a couple of them are particularly noisy: excavation and gunite. The majority of work is not noisy. The crew generally will work during daylight hours, but will respect any restrictions requested by you as the homeowner and/or your neighborhood. These restrictions should be disclosed prior to construction in order to make sure the timeline is accurate.
